MegaTalk Credit Policy

Last Updated: July 27, 2026

1. Overview

As a station host using MegaTalk (Priority Queue), you have a responsibility to your paying callers. This policy explains how MegaTalk purchases work, when a caller automatically receives a MegaTalk Credit, and how your actions affect caller payments.

A MegaTalk is a purchase of a one-time live on-air call with you. Because a live call depends on you and your station being available, a MegaTalk is non-refundable once purchased — but if the call cannot be delivered, the caller's payment automatically converts to a MegaTalk Credit (a "raincheck") they can use for a future call at your station, at no extra cost.

The Golden Rule:

If a caller paid but never got to speak with you, they receive a MegaTalk Credit for the full amount — redeemable for a future call at your station. No exceptions. This protects your listeners and maintains trust in your station.

2. When Callers Automatically Receive a Credit

2.1 Broadcast-Ending Actions (ALL Callers Credited)

The following actions will trigger an automatic MegaTalk Credit for ALL MegaTalk callers - whether they're waiting in queue, currently on air, or returned to queue:

  • Going off-air - Broadcast ended, callers can't continue
  • Disabling talkback - Talkback closed, callers can't continue

⚠️ Important:

These actions credit EVERYONE, including callers who already had their call. This is intentional - it discourages hosts from abruptly ending broadcasts while paid callers are waiting or on air. Always try to work through your queue before going off-air or disabling talkback. Use the block queue feature if you need to stop new callers while finishing with current ones.

2.2 Technical Issues (ALL Callers Credited)

The following technical issues will also trigger automatic credits for ALL callers:

  • Your connection drops (host disconnect) - Not the caller's fault
  • Server/platform issues - Not the caller's fault

Grace Period: If you disconnect, callers wait 2 minutes for you to reconnect or they have the option to remove themselves from queue which will issue a credit. If you return within this window and the caller chooses to wait, no credits are issued and calls can continue.

2.3 Individual Caller Actions

  • Removing a caller who was NEVER connected - Automatic credit (they never got their call)
  • Removing a caller who WAS connected - You decide (see Section 3 below)
  • Blocking the queue - No credit (existing callers can still be served)

3. Host Discretion: Removing Callers Who Had Their Call

When you remove a caller from queue who has already been connected (e.g., returned to queue after their call), you'll be asked whether to issue a credit.

When to issue a credit:

  • The caller didn't get a fair call (technical issues, very short call, etc.)
  • You accidentally disconnected them
  • Other circumstances where you feel the caller deserves another chance to call

When NOT to issue a credit:

  • The caller had a normal, complete call
  • The caller was returned to queue and you're now ending the show
  • The caller violated community guidelines

⚠️ This should be rare.

In most cases, if a caller had their call, no credit is needed. This option exists for exceptional circumstances that we can't predict. Use your judgment, but remember: frequent credits may affect your reputation and earnings.

4. When Credits Don't Apply

In normal operation (not going off-air or disabling talkback), once a caller has been connected to you, credits no longer apply automatically:

  • Caller disconnects during/after their call - No credit (service was delivered)
  • Caller removes themselves after being connected - No credit (service was delivered)
  • You return caller to queue, they leave voluntarily - No credit (they already had their call)
  • Call ends normally - No credit (service was delivered)

5. The hasBeenInCall Flag

Behind the scenes, each caller has a hasBeenInCall flag:

  • false → Caller has never been connected → Eligible for an automatic credit
  • true → Caller has been connected at least once → Host decides (except for broadcast-ending actions)

This flag is set the moment a call connects and cannot be reset. This prevents abuse while ensuring fair treatment.

6. Best Practices for Hosts

6.1 Protect Your Reputation

  • Don't go off-air unexpectedly with callers waiting - ALL callers will be credited
  • Announce when you're ending the show so callers can leave voluntarily
  • Work through your queue before ending if possible
  • Use "Block Queue" to stop new callers while serving existing ones

6.2 Managing Your Queue

  • Removing callers who never connected: Automatic credit - no action needed from you
  • Removing callers who had their call: You decide - only issue a credit if there was an issue
  • Returning to queue: You can return a caller to the queue after their call (e.g., to continue later, or to start a private chat, you might need their address if they won a prize for example)

6.3 Grace Periods

  • Host Disconnect Grace Period (2 min): If you disconnect, callers wait 2 minutes for you to reconnect before being credited
  • Caller Disconnect Grace Period (60-120 sec): If a caller's app backgrounds or loses connection, they have time to reconnect

7. How Credits Affect Your Station

7.1 What You Keep

  • 70% of payments from completed calls (calls that connected and weren't credited)
  • Nothing from a credited call - the caller hasn't used their MegaTalk yet, so there is nothing to earn until they redeem the credit on a future call

7.2 What This Means

  • Credits don't cost you money - you never earned it (your 70% is earned only when a call is actually delivered)
  • When a caller redeems their credit and that call connects, you earn your 70% then
  • Frequent credits may indicate issues with your broadcast reliability
  • Callers who repeatedly can't get their call may be less likely to keep trying

8. How Credits Work

  • Automatic: No action required from you or the caller
  • In-app credit (not a card refund): The credit appears in the caller's app as a "Use your MegaTalk credit" option for their next call - it is not money returned to their card
  • Full amount: The credit equals exactly what they paid, usable for one future MegaTalk of the same amount
  • Station-specific: A credit can only be used at your station (where the original purchase was made)
  • Expiry: Credits expire 12 months after the original purchase date (subject to applicable local law)
  • Retries: If a call paid for with a credit also can't be delivered, the credit is returned so the caller can try again - until the call is delivered or the 12-month period ends
  • If your station is no longer available: the caller can contact support - where the app stores permit, a store refund may be arranged
  • Notification: Callers receive an in-app notification when a credit is issued

9. Limitation of Liability

RadimySM Pty Ltd strives to provide a reliable platform for hosts and listeners. However, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. In the event of server outages, technical failures, or other platform issues:

  • Callers are automatically credited - they can use their MegaTalk later, so they lose nothing
  • Hosts are not compensated for lost potential earnings
  • RadimySM Pty Ltd accepts no liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from service interruptions, including but not limited to lost revenue, lost listeners, or reputational impact

By using MegaTalk, you acknowledge that technical issues may occur and that automatic credits are our way of protecting your listeners while maintaining platform integrity.
